I’ve always been intrigued by prayer. Born and raised in the South, church was a way of life—but it was my praying mother who left the deepest imprint on me. Alongside my father, she raised sixteen children, and I am confident her persistent prayers made all the difference. Our Sunday night family worship and prayer meetings felt like drudgery in my youth, but something was taking root. With that many people under one roof, there was always something going on—challenges, chaos, you name it—but through prayer Christ broke through. Over time, each of the siblings came to surrender their lives to God. After college, I set out to climb the corporate ladder, determined to make a name for myself. But even that ambition was part of God’s plan. It was His way of preparing me for my C.P.A.: my Calling, Purpose, and Assignment. I spent decades in leadership roles, guiding teams and driving change in the marketplace. I’ve seen a lot—maybe not everything, but close. And through it all, I’m still standing by His grace and the power of prevailing prayer. A near-death encounter and a word from the Lord clarified my assignment and lit a fire in me that hasn’t dimmed. From that shy, confused, rebellious girl in my parents’ house, I never could have imagined this life. Today, I’m married to an amazing man of God, Yul Crawford, and we have three incredible adult children. Through my mother’s example and the discipleship of my spiritual parents, I’ve learned—and am still learning—how to persist in prayer and spiritual warfare until victory comes. This has become my passion: equipping others to do the same. To stand firm. To not give up. To prevail in prayer until we see the promised breakthrough. Jesus is our model of persistence.
